Come have coffee with me in Buenos Aires...

100 years of Piazzola!

I enjoyed reading this evocative article about Buenos Aires and the history of Piazzola. Reminded me of my own fun times at Cafe Tortoni, giving visitors official tours of La Boca, and walking around the parks of Buenos Aires.

And thank you, Chris Moss, for mentioning the great women of tango as well!

Tango and Parkinson's

I was so inspired by tango news from Florida: https://www.wctv.tv/2021/03/18/fsu-researchers-put-tango-to-the-test-as-a-treatment-for-parkinsons/

I was lucky enough to be a participant in Brooklyn, a few years ago, at Dance for PD or Dance for Parkinson’s, an amazing organization, https://danceforparkinsons.org/, and so I have been avidly following the progress on our healing dance since then.

These researchers in Florida are now trying to scientifically quantify the benefits of tango on Parkinson’s patients. Good luck to you scientists and dancers, and can’t wait to hear about more progress!

Juan Carlos Copes

RIP Juan Carlos Copes. Despite the often controversial life, he left a legacy that can’t be ignored. Here’s to hoping our art, and the history of our art, can be explored fully and safely, in the near future.

El Bazar de los Juguetes tango.

While this tango was written for Christmas, I think the sentiment applies to today’s difficult corona times.

The speaker talks of wanting to buy every child a toy on Christmas, and we are all wishing the children of today health and happiness.
