Allison has danced her entire life. She started tango by chance, and was hooked! She also enjoys ballet, belly dance, and hip-hop. From 2016 to 2018 she has been dancing with a variety of partners, learning from many world-renown tango teachers, exploring new styles, and getting stronger in her dance. She now welcomes more performances, teaching experiences, and taxi dancing into her dancing life. Contact her at tangoallison@gmail.com.

Volunteer Activities and Tango Experiences:

Dance for Parkinson's 2014 - 2015 Allison was a weekly volunteer at the Dance for Parkinson's class at the Mark Morris center in Brooklyn.  "I enjoyed having a space to practice grace and kindness each week. Dance for PD believes everyone can be a dancer. That is what I believe too.

Studying in Argentina 2013-2014 Allison lived and learned tango in Argentina for one amazing year. From DNI to Salon Canning, she lived the milonguera lifestyle.

Belly-dance for girls in the Villa 15 2013 Allison taught Middle Eastern Dance to middle school girls in Mataderos, Buenos Aires. "I find belly-dance so empowering for girls and women. It uses our natural movements, it is sexy, elegant, and powerful too. The dancer can improvise, be creative, it can be percussive or lyrical. I was so inspired by the women teaching me bellydance in California. There was such a camaraderie there.  I wanted to give back the amazing gift of dance that was given to me, especially to a country that was giving me so much with the tango."

Tango for Tigers  2012 Allison hosted a fundraiser for tigers in February 2012. She collaborated with Triangulo dance teachers who donated lessons as donor prizes as well as the event space, and Trader Joe's, who donated food to the event. Allison and staff raised over $700 that night! The money went to Panthera, the leading organization on big cat conservation.
